Glutathione, NAC & Vitamin C - 30 Veg caps
Glutathione, NAC & Vitamin C
COMBINATION OF VITAL NUTRIENTS: Reduced glutathione is a linear, water-soluble tripeptide formed by 3 amino acids, glutamate, cysteine and glycine. Glutathione can be found virtually in every cell of the human body, which is why it is often referred to as the body’s master antioxidant. Vitamin C has roles in immune stimulation, synthesis of collagen, neurotransmitters, iron absorption and in detoxification. NAC is a precursor of L-cysteine that results in glutathione biosynthesis.
POWERFUL ANTIOXIDANT DEFENSE: Glutathione is an extremely important cell protectant. It has a sulfhydryl (SH) group on the cysteinyl portion, which accounts for its strong electron-donating character. Glutathione boosts the utilization and recycling of other antioxidants, namely vitamin C, E, alpha lipoic acid and CoQ10. NAC is able to increase cell protection against oxidative stress which is accomplished through the release of cysteine, which is the rate-limiting precursor in the synthesis of glutathione.
BOOSTS IMMUNE HEALTH: Vitamin C is a highly effective antioxidant, due to its ability to donate electrons, thus protecting important biomolecules from damage by oxidants generated by free radicals. Apart from replenishing the glutathione, NAC has been shown to optimize immune health by influencing several macrophage, neutrophils and lymphocyte function. Glutathione primes white cells such as natural killer cells and T cells, your body’s front line infection fighters.
PROMOTES DETOXIFICATION: Glutathione conjugation (facilitated by glutathione transferase enzymes) helps contribute to detoxification by binding electrophiles that would otherwise bind to proteins or nucleic acids, resulting in cellular damage. NAC contributes for replenishing and maintaining glutathione levels in the body. Vitamin C assists in the detoxification process by recycling other antioxidants such as glutathione and vitamin E.
SKIN HEALTH: Glutathione reduces melanin production by suppressing the activity of tyrosinase, protects our skin collagen fibres from free radical damage, maintaining the elasticity of the skin and diminishing appearance of fine lines. NAC may exert beneficial effects on skin by reacting with oxidative intermediates and replenishing intracellular cysteine levels. Vitamin C improves collagen production by turning on fibroblasts which improve the appearance of fine lines.
HELPS ATTENUATE MUSCLE FATIGUE: It is a well-established fact that contracting skeletal muscles produce free radicals and the increased production of reactive oxygen species is linked with muscle fatigue. NAC potentially reduces the harmful effects of reactive oxygen species by direct scavenging of radicals and supplying cysteine for enhanced glutathione synthesis. Vitamin C and glutathione sufficiently scavenge exercise-induced free radical production, thus attenuate fatigue.
Directions to use glutathione: Take one serving after food or as directed by the physician. Store in a cool, dry place.
